Mercy Prints

The Mercy Print was inspired by my meditations on the goodness of God during my morning devotions. The Lord impressed upon me that His mercy was not being freely received. Many people are very comfortable resting in the feeling that they have to do something for His mercy, but mercy is freely given to those who reach out for it (Titus 3:3-7, 1 Peter 1:3, Ephesians 2:4-9).

Coupled with this thought was the misunderstanding concerning how we depict Jesus crucified. Yes, He was brutally treated and then nailed to the cross, but He didn’t stay there. Because He took our place, He alone reaches towards us to offer His free gift of mercy. That’s why He is reaching from the cross, extending His hand to us. But in order for us to receive His mercy, we have to surrender ourselves to Him.

It was for you He gave mercy. Reach out to receive the mercy-filled, healing power of His touch. Abide in the cleansing flow of His love.

“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6, NKJV).
